NEW 2011 80 lb trolling rod This is a sample rod .. We mostly build custom rods from orders using our sample rods as guidelines. We have any number of options we can build this rod with. Some options at no additional cost. And some with some additional cost. The labor for building this rod is always the same. The only difference in the cost of our custom rods is going to be any additional cost of more expensive optional components .. all components are figured at my cost, not retail. This rod is available built with any of these three blanks .. the rod in the ad is built with the IFGA 80 lb Rainshadow blank. It is also available with the Seeker IGFA 80-B 80 lb trolling blank or the Calstar RT 80 .. 80 lb trolling blank .. The prices for the optional blanks will follow. This rod comes with the Alutecnos 80 lb curved trolling butt. The butt shown is the silver butt.. it has silver hoods and nuts and a black body .. Distinctive. It is also available with there black and pale gold butt. The pale gold butt is a great match to the Shimano Tiagra and the Alutecnos Albacore reels. Or .. we can use the Aftco 80 lb bent trolling butt if you prefer. Same price. I'd personally rate the Alutecnos butts as better or at the very least as good as .. any other butts I've built rods with. And I've pretty much built rods with all the butts available. The Winthrop Express 80-130 roller guides are in black .. these guides are also available in silver or pale gold. again .. same price. I like the Winthrop guides because they are so much lighter then the Aftco roller guides, they have much more knot clearance, all of the different colors are the same price, and they are American made just like the Aftco's. This rod is a total of 6 foot long with the butt attached. This is the most popular length on our trolling rods. With the Calstar or Seeker blanks it can be built up to 8 foot in length. This rod is wrapped in black .. spartan style .. On this rod we used our triangular shaped finger notched 10 in fore grip. I designed and had this grip manufactured exclusively for BaR-BaR Tackle. You'll find the design is easy to hold for long periods of time and it is a great help in eliminating the twisting and turning you get when a rod is under stress. I wanted a smaller fore grip on this rod .. our single biggest request on big poundage rods is for smaller fore grips .. we can of course use the normal 10 inch big game grip if you like. same price This rod with the Rainshadow blank is going to cost $419. There isn't much i can tell you about the Winthrop Tool roller guides that you probably don't already know. In my opinion they are the very best roller guides manufactured anywhere. The Express Series of roller guides that are on this rod sports the same new frame as the Excel guides .. designed and developed from input by experienced rod builder and fisherman. Every roller guide frame is precision machined out of solid aluminum bar. There are no welds, seams or bends. And never a sharp edge. These guides have huge wind on opening, large enough to accommodate a # 2 pencil. The largest on the market.
