Rating -  Reviewed on Oct 02, 2008 by Aelio from Long Island Okuma Avenger 80 An excellent alternative to the more pricey reels for the casual surfcaster like myself who can't justify spending hundreds of dollars on a reel at this point in time. Also, I can buy 3 of these for the same price as a Penn or 15 of them for the price of a Zeebass and not have to worry about the Okuma getting dunked in saltwater, dropped in sand, or stolen from atop my truck. If any of the aforementioned happens and a reel gets ruied (which hasn't happened yet), I'll pop it off, save it for parts and plunk another 40 bucks down for a new one. I also like the fact that it somes with extra spools (even though they are plastic)...that alone has saved hours of fishing time. Remember, the fish don't care how much your reel costs. |
