Smyrna Beach Shark Attacks Teen

A teen surfer was surfing off of New Smyrna beach when he was attacked by shark. The shark bit into the surfers right foot and the injuries were said to be minor. Authorities think that this shark was most likely a young shark, as the bite marks were rather small.

Baitfish have been moving in off the beach and the sharks and other predators are following them. Surfers and swimmers may get in the way of the feeding frenzy from time to time, causing incidents like this one.
