Hatteras - Hatteras Convertible (42'8"): Hatteras 42 Sportfish
The boat is a 42' 1974 sportfish. Engines twin Cummins VT903M 400hpThis boat is an excellent design for the person who is interested more in quality then image. This could be an extremely good family boat (that is why it is only four stars and not 5). This is a top of the line sportfishing boat and may not be as fast as the newer boats has so many good qualities I would recommend it over most of the new boats bulit today. If you look down the sides of the boat you will see straight unrippled lines. I haven't seen a boat bulit of this quality since the mid 70's. The hull is hand laid fiberglass built to very high standards. This boat has Cummins which are quite a bit more quiet the Detroits and last far longer if maintain properly. The boat is an honest 18-20 knots cruise fully loaded with 550 gallons of fuels, 80 gallons of water, 6 people and 1000lbs of ice. This is a boat for the fisherman.
