Default Tides

What is everyones thought on the best tide to fish for Hoos? Ive usually fised the outgoing with success but never tried the incoming. This weekend looks like I'll fish the incoming in the morning. Is it worth it or should I wait until the afternoon to fish the outgoing. Thanks

The outgoing has always been good for me.. Where abouts are you fishing for them and what style?

The period from dark to about 30 minutes into the sunrise has been key!

I'm working on a good article on wahoo fishing.. coming soon...

How do you fellas check on tides 50 or 60 miles off shore?

Do you just go by the nearest land based tidal station?

some of that trick GPS lets you get a better idea of the tides off shore, esp if you are between too stations. thier is no exact way to do it though , kinda like guessing. just find 2 stations you are betwwen (easy in south florida). look at which way teh tide is flowingh and take a rough wild a$$ guess (known as a WAG).

Default hot hot hot

Wahoo bite in bimini the wknd of dec 4th was blazing hot. We nailed 7 during the outgoing tide biggest being 40-50. Dont even bother with the incoming. The bite was between Ocean Cay and south cat cay. Got all the bites between 150'-250 ledge. Illander Lures and Ace lures were the ticket @ 14 knts .One other boat that was fishing close to use nailed 12 in the same area. One was a 80 monster. Going back as soon as the seas calm down. Ill post some pics in the gallery.

Another question guys,

Let's say I've got a tide chart for December 18th-22nd from the closest reporting
{ http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v3...tidalchart.bmp }
station to where I'll be fishing is saying on the Dec 20th High Tide at 5:23pm and 1.67 feet. Low Tide at 3:55am and 0.70 feet.

When would be the ideal times to drag baits if I wanted to fish the "outgoing"? After 5:23pm when the highest tide begins to subside or the 2 hours leading up to 3:55am?

I know these aren't ideal trolling hours, but I'm just trying to learn the concept here.

Thanks for any help.
