Default Miami Wahoo

Wondering if Miami is any good for wahoo fishing?

What color combinations in lures are most successful for 'hoos?

Thanks

Default whooooos in Miami

You can do well along the whole coast for wahoo, its just that with the Bahamas so close many people dont put the time in on this side.

Same colors as usual, dark colors mainly, blue/black/purple/red.

Just put the time in on the edge and you will get your shots.

Indeed some decent wahoo fishing out of Mia.
Little S (Off Fowey) in 150-350' is GOOD WATER.

My experience has been the usual colors produce.
IE Red/ Black
Black / Purple
Blue / White

Some have good luck w orange / black & green / blk.

Cheers

Tuna

Troll that edge fast w/ a 4lb weight and an purple and pink billy bait or purple and black islander and a double hooked horse hoo on wire w/ a 30' mono leader to get it far behind the lead. Fish sunrise, on the tide change.
You'll get smoked
Good luck,
DF2

Thanks for the info. I'll be heading to Fowey this weekend. I'll post up the results.

DF, I havn't been able to go out yet. I've been doing some maintenance work: replacing livewell pump, seawater pump, and seawater pump gaskets and seals, and boost pressure sensor. It's never ending with boats, but I'm all done now. This weekend is it!

Just be glad you don't own an airplane. It's all of the headache of boat maintenance, with an even higher price tag. They say that the price doubles when they put "marine" on the label. Well double it one or two more times for the "aviation" label
