Default Bimini Wahoo

I have a trip set for next week and I was wondering if anyone has been fishing for wahoo the last week or so.

I know they should be starting soon but I havent heard any reports yet.

If anyone has any better areas around the edge I would be very thankfull as I usually fish down at CaySal and I dont really know the better areas to fish this far north.

Thanks and Tight Lines

Capt. Frank,

Heard of some fish showing up out front of Bimini already. Know of an 80 pounder caught last weekend. Most of the guys high speed troll the drop-off from Cat all the way to the Isaccs. With Isaccs being the better area. I'm possibly heading over in two weeks. Please shoot me a PM to let me know how you did.

Good luck!

Default Bimini Wahoo

I will post the results from the trip, I heard a report of 4 to 6 fish per boat the last couple of weeks so I am looking forward to getting over there.

We are leaving Fri night and swordfishing all night and running across about 3 am so we will be there for first light, then fishing right thru till sun night. So I will try to get a report posted mon or tues or as soon as I can stay awake LOL

Default WEEKEND TRIP

Sorry for not getting back sooner.

The trip over the weekend although perfect weather made it a great trip the great weather also put a damper on the fishing.
We fished Friday night off Miami for swords till 4am without as much as a slashed bait. Then over to Isaacs for the morning bite. We did manage to get a couple of Wahoo on the outgoing tide, but most people that fished the area didn't have any luck. That night we fished the bottom and did a good job on the yellow tails. We fished Sun until about 1pm with just a few cuda to show for it.
I truly believe that we would have killed them if we fished on Mon with the cold front. The weather was just way too nice.

I included a picture of the first fish.

Let me know how it is if anyone fishes this weekend.

Default not 1 grouper

I was very suprised myself that we didnt have any grouper, it was one of the few times I was able to keep a live bait on the bottom for any amount of time too. The only thing that was eating them was some big jacks.
We didnt do any deep dropping and the conditions where horrible(wind right into the tide) for most of the night.

Nice hoo. Looks like 30lb tackle, even better.
Our experience has been that the Bahamians trap the heck out of Isaacs / gingerbreads. The grouper are getting much scarcer, but the yellowtails still chew the paint off the bottom of the boat.

We got 4 hoos Sat E of Brothers (2 snakes, and 2 25-30lbs)
Had a quad on, but 3 got off.
