Default Venice Louisiana late season wahoo surprise

Pretty good close to September with a great surprise run of wahoo..the tuna bite has also been consistent but this is to be be expected for this time of year..Thursday we decided to shift gears and go look for wahoo with the Air Cybernetics crew from Longview TX; this in the same area where Capt Hunter found a few fish the weekend before he went 6-10..our hookup ratio was good witht he murauders but when it came to landing them we were a pitiful 5 for 15; this with two fish coming unbottoned a few feet from the gaff and two other trailers hitting swivels and cutting off hooked fish..all 5 wahoo were nice fish 30-50 pounds and no meat was wasted by shark attacks......our wahoo success rate about doubled compared to the last outing and at one point we were a perfect 5 for 5..fish were nice too with four good 40-50 pounders in the mix..still we had to cull through a few barracuda and sharks but when the dust cleared we had 9 wahoo and a blackfin..its been an amazing year for wahoo not sure what our totals are but its been the best year I have ever had in Venice..Braid murauders are still the weapon of choice..oddly the orange Petrolero has outfished the mainstay pink and purple mackeral colors last two days..may have more to do with position than anything else..we run it 10 yards behind the boat..Paradise Outfitters 1-888-347-4987

sweeet. nice report. The big murauders are nice - do you leave both hooks on or just the trailing hook?
