If you were going to fish a four lure spread in the islands for wahoo, what would be your top choice of models and colors?
Does anyone have any experience with the lures from Rays in boca?

The answer really depends on whether your fast trolling or trolling at a conventional 6-8knots. I have bought some of those lures at Ray's to try high speen trolling here in Jamaica and have just not had any luck with it. Burns too much fuel for me and we are fishing small points and out croppings on offshore banks so usually the fish are stacked in small areas.
My favourite wahoo lures are No Alibi feathers over a bally, Yozuri Bonitos, Braid marauders, the bigger billy baits over bally's, heavy sea witches or similar over baits to keep them subsurface and of course the all time great, Islander's, again over baits. I usually add a slide sinker drilled out on one side to fit the bally's bill into that rides under the lure.

My thoughts exactly. We rarely EVER do any highspeed trolling in the islands and still catch good quaulity 'hoos. With sea witches and either blue/white or purple/black islanders with horse ballyhoos in them its hard to go wrong there. Just somthing with some weight to it to keep it running sub-surface with very little bubble trail.

On the other side of things, we caught our big 'hoo(152lb) on a Black Bart St. Thomas Prowler....which was aimed for marlin. All u have to do is run over a hungry or pissed off wahoo.

that far right one looks like the one i caught my wahoo on except the head was black and no pink skirt only red and black over a ballyhoo. we had it on a planer down the center of the spread. it was weird catching a hoo on a planer.
