Tight work on the hoos!!! Congrats. Did you fish the morning falling tide or later in the day before the front? I was there too, but never went for wahoo. Were you fishing north or south of Bimini?

Tight lines hooker!

Default the catch

i was fishing the outgoing tide that started at 1:00pm or so. as we started, we had three rigs in the water set up for 20 min. then bam we had a double header. one was all of 50 lbs and the other i guess was 40lbs or so. we kept around the north side of north bimini only about 5 miles away. we picked at the fish all day long with lots of action. we ended up catching the rest of the fish one at a time. we got cut off at the weight 2 times, i assume by wahoo. two of the weights had teeth marks in them on the ones i got back. i ran out of skirts for the lures, so i started trolling a large feather on one of the rigs, thats when we caught the mahi. lots of fun.......

oh disco lady, i got the lures from eddy at hopkins. he talks about you all the time. i use your squid now and then when eddy gets special ones......they work good. we caught fish on every one we used.

good luck

Juan,
It's been my experience that they bite on both tides - as long as the water is moving. Harry

Harry. I have also caught wahoo on all tides in the Bahamas. However, it's common knowledge that for "numbers" and the best shots you want to catch the first three hours of the falling tide as bait gets pushed off the bank into the blue, especially in the areas between cays, passes. On falling tides, I focus on areas from Gun to the S. Riding Rocks, normally. Looks like there will be a good weather window this weekend. I can't make it but will be back next month.

Tight lines,

Juani

Eddy is the man! I just stopped by this morning (I work in the office directly above Hopkins) and he showed me some of the new wahoo lures he's got coming in next week. They look awesome.
