Default Team Circle of Trust wrecks hoos

Been busy over the last few weeks & had some sleep deprivation. Now that the dust has settled, and arms have recovered, its time for a forum recap...

Brand H fired up the "coconut telegraph" and team "circle of trust"was born.:biglaugh:
Team consisted of Brand H, Golfcane, E$ & Flatsbroke, w cameo appearances by Deep Dropper,Uglyboat,Doradosteve, and Jason. We had some good days, and some bad,but in the end we were blessed to bring some serious wahoo in the boat.

Kicked things off w just Golfcane and ER on the Palmetto "got tail". First fish was a wee-hoo (about 20lbs) who ate a bonita. Second fish NAILED the Schneilander and was in the low 40lb range. Got a couple nice pics all lit up. It was great to have 2 fish and be drinking cold Amstels at 8:30 AM.

Golfcane

Your's truly

Next Day Brand H hopped on the Palmetto, and we got a decent fish on bonita.

Lil drama on gaff, but fish in da boat.

Uglyboat got wind of the "scene"and scored a trade a trip w me & Golfcane on Intrepid.
This guy learns fast, and was attached to a good wahoo that smacked the wire rod.

Uglyboat (on right) in the house, man that Intrepid is a nice ride.

Uglyboat was so stoked, he trailered down at dawn w Aren x 3 and yep, fish in the boat each time. :worthy:

Shot of me and Aren w a good fish that smacked wire rod on da Bluewater (40lb class)

Uglyboat & Aren back at the dock

Brand H was kind enough to host Golfcane and I on several trips, and put us on some QUALITY fish. Another 40+ that SMACKED the wahooking (blue white) on the long.

Brand H in the house !!

Did a few guided trips, and one of the best was with Steve & Kevin from NY.
Wore them out with 2 30lb kings and 3 bonitas when the BIG GIRL struck. I said something like "I will eat my hat if this is not "THE MAN". Fish came upon the leader and looked like a SUBMARINE. 65" long, 61lbs Not bad for their first wahoo trip EVER on their boat.

Default part 2

Back out w Brand H on his Seavee w Flatsbroke. Ding dong, the wahooking gets drilled and another 40++ hits the deck. Brandon was in "the zone" and we were eating well. :worthy:

Brand H and Flatsbroke

Me and Benji, thank you Brand H !!

Deep Dropper invited me for a quik AM trip on Jupiter, and the bite was on.
Had a fish ripping drag on the wire, then got off. 2 minutes later same rod goes, and we stayed tight, putting a low 20'sin the box. I marked the spot wMOB and went for another pass.

Fish 1

Yep, got drilled in 106 as we approached the mark, and Brett;s fish was a little bigger than first in the 30lb class

Fish 2 on Jupiter

A notable catch during this period was "THE BUCKSTER" with his 56lb black on rod & reel.
Way to go OWEN :worthy:

Also Doradosteve, got a nice hoo approx 35lbs on one of his famous "strip baits".

:worthy:

Parting shot is a late season otherside fish on Trep. Overall a good showing for the team, and good practice for winter wahoo tourneys. (Bahamas Wahoo Challenge) . Thank you VERY MUCH Golfcane, Brand H, Deep Dropper, Steve and those folks that took me up on "guided trips" etc.

Late season otherside comin in hot

Old skool shot from 02 where we tallied 50 fish between islands and FLa in calendar year.

Some of the lures in spread

Cap't Juan, bbq, sushi, ceviche, grilled, sauteed very little goes to waste.

Cap't Joe, my bad, oops.

Frayednot, what happens is over time the mini swivel @ hook gets worn from the hook wobbling so much. I have to check em every other trip and also had 2 Yozuris get bit in half.

Question

Does it make a difference what you rig the yozuris on?? I have mine on 49-strand.
Single strand wire will break from vibration.
400lb mono will get sliced if in the unlikely event they hit close or in front of the head.

Also what is your preference on how far back to run the yozuri? Short in prop wash, long in clean water, or wherever? I know harry likes to run his less than 100' behind the boat on his tuna trips. And do you use a cigar lead or run it as is? I run mine as is off the rod tip or a rubber band off the waterline. I figure if your lure looks like that then you're not just lucky, you're just that good My 12" purple/black is gettin there.
