Default March Bimini Wahoo bite?

So after many failed attempts to make it to Bimini to wahoo fish this winter, my next window of opportunity is in March.

Are the wahoos still biting in March or is it too warm for them by that time? Thanks

personally I have never had any luck, but then again I caught a 68 pounder the first week of August a mile off North so you just never know... but with the weather this winter I'd almost say it's not too warm just yet! good luck let us know how it works out!

Not necessarily too warm, but it is certainly a transitional time. The conventional wisdom says that they are moving north and you will have better last chances of fishing north in Grand Bahama. Perhaps start in Bimini. If no luck mush on to the north and see if it is any better there. Seems like you need to get local & recent catch reports to confirm.

We fished last year in March as well, but off West end. Skunked one day, 5 in the boat the next day. Others had good luck as well at the same time frame. (And it was reported to be slow around Bimini.)

But read my post on the West End report, where the case of conventional wisdom is out the door at times. Seems like " the early bird gets the worm" snippet trumps "the falling tide off the bank principle".

Good luck in March. Invite T, he'll show you how to get hooked up.
