Question Wahoo honey-holes

Does anyone have any places in islamorada or around the area with a constant wahoo bite in the winter? We saw some under a weedline but didnt know how to get them to bite; just chunking or butterfly jigs (they were like 30 feet down). so any informatoin would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Default Islamorada area

The best you can do in the Islamorada area is work the hump if you are not getting the blackfin guys all annoyed with your high speed trolling techniques. You can work SW from the hump toward the marathon humps where you have lots of rips and current edges along the way. The marathon humps, 507 and 509, are also good but none are all that cosnsitent and you always have the live baiters to contend with on all the humps. If the water is clear and deep blue in color anywhere outside the reef from 125 feet to 400 is all good but you have to cover alot of ground. To be successful with wahoo anywhere you need clean blue water and if it isn't just outside the reef there is no need to fish there.
