Default Chub Cay WAHOO trip! 12/14-12/17

My dads friend Art invited us over to Chub Cay to do some wahoo fishin this weekend with another one of his friends and his son. We said yes and on friday we arrived at his aiplane hanger at about 3pm and loaded the plane. We left the airport and after a short 1 hour flight we landed at Chub. Cleared customs and made our way to his very nice 45' CABO sportfisher. We got all the wahoo lures out and sharpened all the hooks and hung out for a little and then went to bed for an early morning start.
Day 1:
Woke up at 5am and the wind was goin good at about 15-20 out of the south east. Couldn't have asked for anything better. Made the run out to the pocket and put lines in. After a short 4 or 5 minutes we had our first hoo in the box at about 30 pounds. Kept on goin and picked up 2 more nice ones around 25 pounds. Then the tide change was over so we decided to do some deep droppin for a couple hours and got about 10 nice yellow eyes, 1 nice queen, and about 5 nice black fin snappers. Switch back over to the troll and got a double header on 20 pounders and then picked up another one right after that . Trolled for a few more hours picking up a our biggest fish of the trip at 35-40 pounds and 3 others that were 25-30 pounders. Ended the day catching 10 Wahoo and missing about 6-7 others that never found the hook and a nice assortment of snappers. We Slayed em.

Day 2:
Woke up at 5am and the wind was howlin at 25-30 with gusts to 35 and the 52 Viking next to us tried goin out but came back in sayin that it was a solid 6-8 slop very close together. So we unaminously decided that we had enough fish already and we would just stay in and explore the island. We rented a golf cart and found some cool dirt roads and some nice viewpoints on the island. We were gonna fly out but the crosswinds were too strong for the plane to fly out. So we waited till Monday and got home nice and safe.

This was a sick trip.
Thanks Art.
