I guess it has been a month since the last full report I made here..we have been slammed..just read Steve's awesome report too....it has been a wild set of days..great weather has kept us offshore most days running maxed out with all three boats.I did sneak away for 5 days around Mardi Gras it was my carrot in front of the ox cart..been trying to nail a sword for the last 5 years and it still isnt in the cards..the wind blew the entire time I was there..anyway a family vacation stop in Orlando on the way home made up my selfish pursuit..I am going back for try number ?? in a few weeks..dont tell the wife...lots of great trips in February and early this month since the cobalt blue arrived on the shelf we have had some increadible, tuna and wahoo trips add a surprise marlin to the mix and another mako and it all equals a grand time..lots of good days and other days where it was just good old fun to be out on the water for a boat ride..makes us appreciate the resource..the Lump has been hit and miss although on the days it hits its been nothing short of a home run shot to the bleachers..the wahoo bite picked up and we have had a string of 10 plus fish per boat days this last few..some studs too..we have had several fish over 80 pounds including a 87 pounder a few days ago.....

...
.both boats combined for 23 wahoo before 11am yesterdsay and came home early..a few big tuna are still being brought in but nothing stellar and yes I think the count is down from previous years..the wild heard has been cut back from fishing poressure no question..still at least 1 good yellowfin finds its way into the box every other day and probably many more free to breed another day..but nothing over 150 pounds this week for us..we had one boat catch a mako shark on a wahoo plug last week and another boat release a 200 pound blue marlin March 1st..

..
this was a first for our twin vee and the first of the year for our team..we are going to stay in Grand Isle for the rst of the month then go to the yard for two weeks then who knows where we will end up..I am still planning on making the return to VENICE MARINA ON APRIL 20TH so we willbe staged up for the opening of snapper season on April 21st..Hoping for a banner snapper season and increadible summer marlin and dolphin bite..the bluewater is already 74 degrees and the few shallow spots we have fished for grouper and those drags have shown a few sows in the test trawl..Paradise Outfitters - Grand Ilse/Venice, Louisiana - 1-888-347-4987 (888-FISHWUS)
