20 miles NE. of corner, Ballyhoo and yozuri mauraders BIG schools of Big fish. Got only the head of our first fish
So wasted no time getting these in the boat Had two others broke off and had to leave the fish a 2:00pm But still married with fresh sushi

RR, We had the same problem. Found the fish..and they were skyrocketing...worked our azz off to get a bite. We only plugged 1 40# YFT on a Speedster, the other 30 fish were skippies
. We worked the same Lat..and they were there...just very spooky. We will retreat untill the spring run when they are hungry and stupid. Start gearing up for Wahoo.

I bet you were pulling some cedar plugs and or small feathers. The problem with those are the small fish will keep u from getting to the bigger ones, we only caught one skippy. Skirted horse ballyhoo on top and plugs on the flat lines. Also Ive found the closer to the bank more chances of skippies and blackfin in the mix. The yellows will hopefully be there for at least another month. Planning a overnighter 15th weather permitting. Im not giving up until I bag a 100#. btw its a 32-33' hydrasport aka the MOJO.

We pulled everything from a yummie flying fish to a bag of cheeto's. Definitely got tired of clearing off the skippies and moved to the larger speedsters and marauders in the end. Just one of those days where the fish had plenty of natural food to eat and wern't interested in our baits. We shut down and chummed with live bait and couldn't get them to turn our way.
We will pull for wahoo on the full moon. Maybe pop our head up over the corner to look around for tuna on the rising tide change. I am not willing to burn all that fuel if the tuna are going to be spooky this late in the season. Good luck on the marker tuna for the Mojo.
