Default Over Under Adventures - Weekly Wrap - 62 Tuna

OCEAN CITY FISHING - REPORT - JULY 8, 2007

We got in ten offshore fishing charters this week, out of the Ocean City Fishing Center. We did have to postpone two charters this week, as the weather did not cooperate on a couple days. The news of the week, was the arrival of some larger Bluefin Tuna. Most of the fish continue to be 45 to 46 inch fish, which is just under the magic 47" number that NMFS has set for daily limits. Currently we are allowed to keep 2 bluefin over 47" and 1 Bluefin Tuna under 47". We managed to find a good number of the larger fish this week though too, with the biggest going about 115#. Capt. John on the PRETTY WORK put that bruiser in the boat on Friday's Ocean City Fishing Charter. THATS RIGHT and JUSTIFIED also had good weeks, catching a nice mix of both Yellowfin and Bluefin Tuna. For the week, the OUA crews caught a total of 62 Tuna, averaging 6-7 per trip per boat. Once again, Saturday brought the average down, as the boat traffic made the bite slow. Saturday's trips were the least productive of the week, with THATS RIGHT and PRETTY WORK combining for only 3 fish that day. Our best day was Friday, when all 3 boats combined for a whopping 31 tuna, inlcuding the largest 115# fish of the week. Today, Pretty Work bagged 2 Bluefins and JUSTIFIED went offshore looking for Yellowfin and went 4-7.

LOW PROFILE is now in Ocean City Maryland warming up for next weekends Ocean City Tuna Tournament. All of our boats are entered and looking forward to competing in next weekend's event. After next weekend, the LOW PROFILE, will once again be back in its Summer and Fall home at Avalon Point Marina, New Jersey, just north of Cape May Fishing for Tuna & Marlin, for the rest of the summer and fall season.

Please view our new 2007 Open Boat Make Up Charter Schedule. We added more dates this week, and are putting more on the calendar every day, as we get calls from groups looking to split the charter cost with other anglers.
