Havnt been out yet but know of several guys who did well in Atlantis. One 500lb giant, many 50lb yellows, a couple 100lb+ yellows and one 140lb yellow. These fish were all taken on the troll. When hooked up, immediatly diamond jigs were dropped. Almost every attempt at a diamond jig a multiple hook up was shown for it. No fish that i heard of were taken at night. Most of the boats i heard of did not to well in the fish tail or dip. Only a few very small yellows and mahis.

Do you subscribe to a satellite water temp service? Water temp and more importantly, temp breaks are key to locating tunas and the reason most people don't catch 'em is, they never get around them. I am always sceaming "You can't catch what ain't there" in my books. And you can't. Sat charts are the best way of zeroing in on water with fish in it.

Get yourself a set of spreaderbars (mine, I hope) and run them in that good water on the edge of a good break. (Look around - everybody trolls bars up there and there's a good reason for that!)

Work the break, make sure that you are there when the tide changes and
Hang on! Shove a washdown hose down the throat of the first fish that you catch and then match THE SIZE of whatever it is that they are eating, probably squid.

Actually, the first thing to do is to get a good book on tuna fishing and study it. Knowledge is the key to success in fishing and everything else.

Do those things and your "luck" will turn.
