They work Tony, I have used mine the flyers love it. Besides it is nice to see the tuna eat a chunk in the light.

We use one up in the North East and it does not seem to scare them. We also fish with the spreader lights on which I think makes a bigger impact. Not to mention the underwater hull lights. But again I do not think the Hydra glow scares them.

It works!

We used a big, swimming pool light. We preferred it to the spreaders because there was no surface glare. I'm sure the Hydro Glo would work too.

The light raised bunches of squid and other bait much of the time and they, in turn, attracted a lot of different predator fish, including tunas and Elvis himself.

I tried it on my last tuna trip to La. and it worked great. The flyers swin right up to it as do the squid. We had several tuna come up and swollow fyers in the light and that was pretty cool. I need to get a squid rig so we can catch live squid.

Cap Tony,

You want to really get your mind blown in the lights at night? Get yourself a small helium tank and blow up a balloon until it just suspends a Carolina Lures Yummy Flying fish above the water. Hook the flyer thru the middle of the back with a BIG hook and float that puppy out to the edge of the light. It's fine if it dips down into the water part of the time and okay if it doesn't.

Now watch it and think, "That Archer guy, he's craz......Holy sheet! Didya see THAT?!! BIG FRIGGIN' TUNA jumped outta the water and missed the flyer! KEERASHH! ZZZZZZZZZZ! JEEZUM, he got it that time! Hook up!"

The San Diego long range boats have been doing a job on big tunas ballooning Yummee's in the middle of the day. Flyers are notorious for being attracted to lights at night and....ah, well, just give it a try to humor a crazy old salt, okay?

(Just be sure to put it on a big rig.)

It's great to see what looks like the result of a refrigerator hitting the water in the vicinity of your bait way back in the penumbra. "Oh shit! HOLY SHIT! ....ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ! GOT'M ON!!!!"
