i want to get two new custom rods built for the canyons. i will be using tiagra 50lrs' and wondering what your thoughts were on blanks. i am tryin to decide between fiberglass or e glas blanks. i have been looking at both calstar and shikari blanks but can't decide. any input would be great

personally i love calstar blanks. I wouldn't hesitate using them at all. I think glass and their "graphiter" model have different uses. For tuna nothing beats a graphiter. Nice action in the tip with a strong backbone that shuts off above the foregrip. Personally have a bunch of 760s and 755s. They make great tuna standup/trolling rods, 30-100# class. The regular fiberglass rods have more of a parabolic bend to them, and have an overall softer feel, which work very well, but IMO the graphiters are superior for tuna. I personally would forget the shakiri blanks, can't beat calstars reputation!
