9 or 10 wt will handle the BFT and dolphin that you may encounter.

The size of the fly and wind condition will also dictate which rod to use the 9wt is my first choose. Good fishing

Default Keys Flyrod Tuna

I always use a 10 wt. unless I am at the Shrimp Boats where I get a lot of Shark bite offs then I bump it to a 12 wt.

I'd stick with a 12.... More power and more backing.

The 10-15lb BTF will give you all the fish you want on a 12wt.!!

I would use the heaviest rod possible. When the blacks are busting you don't want you fly to accidentaly landing on a 80lb plus yellow.
