Any of you guys pull spreader bars/ daisy chains for tuna?
What type of hook do you guys arm your last squid with? Thanks in advance. |

I run both squid chains and feather chains. Best consistent colors seem to be, for me, pink/purple squids and red/white feathers both are followed by a 4" cedar plug. Squid seem to catch mostly toonz where feathers seems equally deadly to phins and toonz.

Spreaders require stouter tackle than chains. I'd rather pull a chain. I haven't seen that bars catch more fish than chains either.

Check out canyonrunner.com, they are suppliers of spreader bars in NJ. I used to always have 2 or 3 bars in my spread in NE canyons and have caught Blue and White Marlin, Yellow Fin, Long Fin, Blue Fin and Big Eye tuna, Mahi and Wahoo on them. For some reason have not had much succes in Florida.
