Not looking for any particulars but, has anyone done any good
on the Otherside?
Heard 1 report of a few being caught out of Rosies over the weekend.
Left the dock yesterday at 3 AM and back at 9 PM with no YF.

As a matter of info:
A few were caught out of the port over the weekend way out.
140 miles
Had to make a run to Ft. Pierce and found out one boat did well last week east of the corner and another boat got 7 nice YF out of Rosies over the weekend.

The YFT reports realy suck this Spring. Last year we were hammering them almost every weekend. The weather is exceptionaly rough this Spring, and most of the tuna chasers have been kept in port with the exception of a few lucky trips. Even the reports of tuna catches are nothing to get excited about, with the exception of a single trip to the canaveral bouy that produced a full spread takedown of 4 fish in the 80# class.
The general concensus so far is that you have to bust your a$$ to catch a few footballs....that sucks. That also tells me the major migration of YFT has not moved to the North of Andros as of yet.
In the past few years we would start searching for them in the begining of April and usually had some good success by the end of the month. Last year they came early, and we were pounding them in late March and early April.
Looks like this year they are coming in late.....probably early May before the migration gets here.....hopefully with more accomodating weather.
We will know when they show up, there will be more postings and photos on this site very soon.

I can tell you this, when they show up, it's going to be a total Jailbreak on the Certifiable

Hey, I'm new, but I've been checking the Tuna forums here for a while. Went over yesterday, saw a school of 50lb yft at 7:30 am, but would not bite. Trolling, dead bait, live bait, nada. Deep dropped and bottom fished until 3pm, then went looking again only to find skippies. Covered from Tuna city up to Sandy Cay.

Heading over to Lucaya on Friday (5/23). Will fish the providence channel and report back if we find anything, but I'm sure hoping they've going to start coming through. The rough weather has kept me in all except for one trip in which we settled for a dorado consolation prize.

Wo23,
Glad to know my sled is still there , haven't seen it in 5 weeks.
Poor weather has kept me at home, and gas cost too much to fetch the boat without a hard core fishing run mixed in.
Sad to say that place in Lucaya is not mine..it is a good friends...but it sure makes a great hang out for me

Going on Thursday to pick up the boat and head for Great Harbor where I can freeload on another friends pad....its nice to be a vagrant in the islands.
We plan on chasing some tuna in the Providence Channel on the way to the Berries.

I may be heading over again this weekend. Any reports from the canyons east of Isaacs? I don't want to burn 160 gallons and catch skippies again. I leave out of boynton, so the corner is a long way, but i'll go if I must.
