Default Blue Marlin Cove

Hey Guys

Can someone that has stayed at BMC describe the amenities? My understanding is that there are two bedrooms with two baths. Does each bedroom have two separate beds? Are the beds comfortable? Is there soap, shampoo and supplies in the bathroom?

I understand that there is power and water dockside. What amperage is the power? Does each dock slip have a hose attached to a water spigot or do you have to bring your own hose?

In the kitchen area, how is it equipped? Is there a full set of cookware? Is there a dishwasher? Wine glasses? Is there daily maid service and if not how frequently do they clean up the units?

Is there someone there to cook up your catch every night or do you have to take it over to Boodle Bay if you want that?

Just trying to figure out what is there and what we need to bring. Thanks in advance.

Richard,
Each unit is 2 bedroom, 2 1/2 bath. 1 bedroom has a king/queen and the other has a full and a twin. The beds are comfy and the a/c is cold. They do supply basic soap and shampoo, but if you have a favorite flavor, bring it. We also always bring a small amount of laundry detergent as each unit has it's own washer and dryer. Each unit also has a stove, refrigerator, oven, microwave, dishwasher and cable TV. Depending on the unit some cookware as well.
Each dock space has it own electricity. Not sure of the amperage, but I bring my own extension cord from home and plug in my battery charger every nitght. There are plenty of water hoses on the docks for everybody. Each dock space also has it own dock lines already in place.
Shannon serves up family style dinner on Friday and Saturday nights. Everyone usually contributes part of their catch from the day and she cooks it up, along with a variety of side dishes. If you are staying beyond the weekend, I'm sure you can make some arrangements with her.
I do not recommend traversing between Bootle Bay and BMC on a frequent basis as it will only stir the pot between the two ownership groups.

Mark-

If we stay past the weekend (which we are planning to do), where would you go to get dinner if not Boodle Bay? And why would going over there cause "a stirring of the pot"? I have stayed with Vida many times and was planning to buy conch and lobster from him or Marvin when I am there. I am not up on the politics-can you bring me up to speed?

Old Bahama Bay is right down the road, and like I said, I'm sure Shannon will come cook for you if you talk to her in advance. Check your PM

Bajakain, Swrodstalker is dead on.
(especially about the no-no of traversing the properties as there is some bad blood.)

Mostly BMC caters to the CC crowd, so it is not true DC shore power.

I'm in, reserved & stoked for the trip

Not to answer for Mark, but here is the short re-cap of events.

Bootle Bay is owned by Vida & Marvin used to run it. The owners at Blue Marlin Cove originally were going to give Vida some slips once they finished construction as MOST of the docks Vida was using did NOT belong to him.

A physical conflict occurred between the two parties. The net result is some bad blood and the Blue Marlin guys decided NOT to give Vida the slips after the physical conflict. I may be saying too much, and none of it needs to be repeated, but it IS the truth.

Now Marvin runs Blue Marlin Cove for the owners & does a bang up job.
Since he left customer service at Bootle Bay has taken a nose dive. I believe they have about 14 rooms & just a couple slips etc. Comparinmg the two properties is like Marriot vs Motel 6.
(and often the Motel 6 has COLD water for showers.)
