    Default out island pics..

we went as far south east as Conception, fished all over Columbus Point Cat and outside Cat.. tarter Bank had some real nice dolphin and wahoos .. and a pretty blue mako shark that would make an 'accordion' out of your fish.. (really cool to watch though..) we caught blue marlin (something the owner and his kids really like.. ) and yes we use bait and my riggers are just plain ol' blacks clips rigged to never fowl.. (bugs were horrible in cat Island though..) the jigging there is insane and the fish are thick! we caught muttons, scamp grouper, yellow fin grouper, strawberries.. all on jigs..
we did not place in the tourny but we would catch some nice wahoos and dolphin also.. add in some sick blue marlin in the 200-220lb range and you have a trip..
seen 1 more mako on columbus point that was in the 500-600 lb range and we fed him wahoo aso .. cool to see them eat a fish while the tuna door is open..

Looks like a nice trip Ted. I love it down there but they really spank you for fuel and dockage and Hawks Nest. Rum Cay is much more reasonable and fun. How big were the hoos?

Any over 100 lbs? Did you get over to San Sal?

Where is the picture of you and the mahi taken?- That doesnt look like Cat.

I have a king size bed. I don't know any kings, but I guess if one came over, he'd be comfortable. "Oh, you're a king, you say? Well you won't believe what I have in store for you! It is to your exact specifications! When I was young I had a twin bed. I always wondered what happened to my brother.

Default caught the dolphin in the exuma sound..

off Highbourn Cay .. straight 20lb to the hook while deep dropping .. cleaned him at the Hurricane harbour fish cleaning table..

the largest wahoo was like right at 98 lbs on the white rat outta Nassau.. chasin' tail took the tourny ..

plenty of sharks there that 'modify' your fish right at or a 1/2 second past strike..

had a great bunch of friends over last night for my annual trip around the sun .. people brought rum.. have no idea why.. ( hahahaahha..) we had conch chowder, conch salad, dolphin, wahoo (wasabi.. ) .. and sat out on the dock drinking till 2 am..
I get to fish .. what else is there? dash here are some more pics for ya..

by the way the "Bottom Line" is a 50 Post and at 26 - 27 knots she only burns around 36 per hour .. has 3 staterooms and lots of storage so she is an awesome island rig.. great owner, likes to fish. that alone is priceless..

It's a mini drift fishing "head boat" - just built at an irregular angle. Sounds like it was a great trip Ted. You are lucky to get to those places. Glad the Crusader is coming along well. The owner is patiently waiting. Harry

love them big wire lines bro, must be an island thing

  14. #14

Default jerry.. kinda miss fishing around you..

how are ya?.. any good fishing this year?

PS: wire lines can make 'some' full grown men cry.. and people look at you funny when you catch a 18 lb head of weeds that looks like cousin 'It'.. but they double as grouper tackle also..

Default dash.. it is a 1999 Post 50'..

they have 3 staterooms and a huge salon.. 2 heads with showers. the owner is a great guy and believes in taking care of a simple boat that can get fishy..
lots of storage and does not have the draft most carry in that size.. (i do call her the white squall though when it is choppy it seems to mist up the isen glass some.. ) it has a 600 lb a day eskimo ice maker..

he did have a rampage express with a tower but after we fished some on rough days ... he started calling her a 'pop-up-camper'... she tops out at owner speed at right at 35 knots if you need it.. my fuel saving / get there cruise is 27.2 knots..
at present time we are looking at great harbour to spanish wells.. we found a kick ass bottom spot north of Bimini though in 1,100' that we both keep talking about as a 'must hit spot'.. notice i have corrupted them into carrying spinners on the front bow to toss at tunas???.. by the way hope town has some huge wahoos right now.. right off the light.

    Jerry,

What is happening Mon? I'm glad to see you postin' recently here on the forum. Psst: you owe me a visit, or me, a visit to you: a/k/a, just some gentle island persuasion. The last time I was down Kingston way, I did Call You to hook up, and we (without you/family) had a super good time, (remember Julio and Kate party invite); but I did not see you . T'was a sad coincidence, that you had had a muscular biker (event) right about the same time. We didn't get to do any fishing, but it was fun travelling the Island. In about 5 days, we visited Port Antonio area, stayed very near-by Blue lagoon, snorkelled around the outside of Monkey Island, Ocho Rios, and a birthday party; well, so sorry that you couldn't make it. We had such a great time, and the food: Island stylin with good spice, including a nice batch of curried goat, etc. too. (Recall, Julio had his B-day and more party that weekend.) Super time, and wished you were able to be there.

So the next time you are in Pompano, please call, and Do stop by! Mon soon come, and we have enough fresh Ackee for nice fish dish, island style, plus fresh veggies. (Ya Man, I have a tree growing in my yard: you see the spirit goes both ways.) (Maybe even some Yellow-eye Ceviche), If not timely, we have many options.

If you've got the time, I've got the hospitality, Penisula style: unless, you want to hook up in Rio.

Please tell more wahoo stories from the banks and show a few skin shots too: Wahoo skin that is. Ya Man: good to see you postin. RT
