Default rookie questions

Fluorocarbin reccomended?
How many hooks, light sticks, squid, etc do you go thru on a typical night?
From what I read underwater lights are recomended but are they a requirement. Would you go fishing if you didn't have one?
How many worms do you put on the hook, just joking. ops:

Thank You

I don't use flourocarbon, between the weight, lightsticks, and all the other crap you have down there, I don't think flourocarbon is worth the money
I ususally pre rig 15 squid and have a few more unrigged just in case it is a really good (or really bad) night.
I use electralumes, so the only sticks I use are on the balloons. I usually use about 7 per night. Some people use sticks and electralumes, but generally I dont.
I use a hydroglow light and one of swordslashers lights under the boat, they work well especially on dark nights, but the first one I caught was without light, they are nice but not required.

Bread balls or hotdogs work better than worms

I use 6' of 250# Momoi with a livie or rigged squid. Then a 150# wind on. Some people use a longer leader and no wind on but I like to reel it close to the boat. If you don't have electralumes use duel color dura lumes (they are light sticks that do not pop when you put them down). With the dura lumes you may want to put them about 9' from the bait. Put a break away 2# weight about 40' from the bait and then your floats.

If you don't have squid use those venis sausages in the can.

I think the light in the water is pretty big. I 've seen them come and swim into the light, so I think it helps for the most part. I have caught fish wihout it though..

Good Luck

Thanks for the help guys. I don't want to drain you out of knowledge that you spent many hours on the water perfecting. This should be enough to get me started. Thanks again, I will post my results after the trip. I might move up to rookie from Greenhorn after this.
