Default Lurking from long distance...

Greetings to all

I have been lurking in the back gound for a while now and have enjoyed listening to the chatter in this forum. I am a life long fishing finattic, Ft. Lauderdale native, stuck in Ohio. Read traveling fisherman, living vicariously on the web.
Great to hear of the rebound in swordfishing. I'll be In S.Fla late March and hope to get some fish on.

Hey Papa, Although I am in Jamaica, I share your enjoyment of this site. Hurry up and do some fishing, there must be something to catch in Ohio. And whenever you do get back to Fla. let us know how the fishing went.

There just is not anything like the fishing in Florida here on Ohio. We do get walleye, steel head, and smallmouth bass on Lake Erie. Although right now it is solid with Ice. To damn cold! Not to mention that it reminds me of catching bait... at least we can still fish.

Papa, I have seem some sweet ice houses for fishing on the frozen lakes. TV, hot food etc etc. But I know what you mean, anytime a bass can rip 500yds off my 50wide in a minuite I may just buy a bass boat

When I moved to Ohio I bought my boat from a fellow up in Marblehead, a Blackfin Combi, one of only a few on the Lake. Kind of overkill for lake Erie. I sold that at the end of last season, just didn't make sense for the 4 month boating season, $$$slip winter storage etc... The culture of the Islands around Marblehead Catawba, and Put-in-Bay remind me alot of the Florida Keys. A bar and a T-shirt shop on every corner. They say it is not like it used to be. Although the water is getting better and the walleye catch has been improving. I live/work near Chagrin Falls, in the Eastern 'burbs. Not a day goes by that I don't think of SFla waters...
