Default Boats with Generators

I have a sportfisherman and most of the time when drifting for swords I leave the generator running. I have experimented without it running as well and have not found much difference in strikes.
Can it be an atractor since the exhaust is above the waterline and it creates a splash as well as the humm of course.
I know most of you fish on CC boats but any imput on this subject would be helpful.
Mike you have a Luhrs. Do you leave your gen running??

Thanks for any imput.

Capt Ed. :confused

I'll tell you, i usually tell the guys to leave it off or atleast for a bit while Im setting up.. but MANY times when they turn it on, we get bites... so I dont care so much anymore..

Just like resetting, something about the engines running and lines dropping gets us good bites out there...

I definetely don't think the generator hurts your bite chances at all...

Thanks. that has pretty much been my experience as well. As a matter of fact the largest sword we ever caught was with it on.

I always leave mine on and lately can't catch sh#t so don't know what that means. Seriously, I leave it on and believe the noise does not hurt and may help.

I can't afford a boat with a generator... yet... But I will accept an invitation to fish on one with the a/c, generator, plasma etc....

I fish 70-90mi out with a single engine and it runs all night and we get plenty of bites, just can't keep the hooks in. We have had two fish this year slashing baits off the swim step so I think noise is good. I like to hear it anyway

My generator stays on the whole time. Once you get used to the A/C it's tough to be without it lol.
