Make sure you heat up the drag a bitr before reading the setting.
Put the rod in a holder and wind against you buddy holding the scale. Once the drag is warm, Pull steady on the scale to read the setting. Adjsut , and do it again. Probably shoud do it every time you go out but I don't. |

I bought a hand held spring scale at Bass Pro Shop for $29.00, it is the brass one with the plastic collar indicator on it. The scale has measurements in pounds and kilo's. If you buy it make sure that you set your drag using the pound side. 12 pounds is definately different than 12 kilos. Good Luck!
