I will be out tommorrow night out of Hollywood with Professor O and we will be attempting to deploy satellite tags for my masters thesis on some swords. If anyone has a fish approximately 51" or larger (that is in good condition) that they would be willing to allow us to tag and release, try to raise me (Tunaman81) or Professor O on the radio. If we are close enough, we will run over and assess the fish and tag it. I have 6 tags to deploy, and Professor O also has a tag from the SAIL club and the Jurassic Drift to deploy.
Also, there are 3 swordfish with satellite tags attached swimming around right now. If anyone catches a swordfish with a satellite tag attached, please remove the tag and either contact Professor O, tunaman81 (908 591 8267), or the NOAA lab out on Key Biscayne. Recovering the tag can provide a lot of very important data. Thank you in Advance!

Dave the Fish Guy, Reel Life, and team Second Chance will be joining us
tonight. As Justin mentioned, we have a bunch of PSATs to tag fish with and we could use all the help we can get. Any suggestiong from those fishing the last two nights on where the fish are would be a big, big help. We are going to fish between the 26 00 and the 26 16 or so unless there is good reason to go elsewhere. We'll be on the radio starting at sunset, so get in touch!! Pass the word to all your friends about the tagged fish; we would love to get a tag back with all of the high resolution data. cheers, arthur

Professor O, I will be on a different boat (Keith) but will start my drift at the usual location. Since Ray is not on the boat I will let you tag the first fish but if it a Beast, I will tag it with my stick. Will be on 72.

Professor,
I usually do not post in this forum but what you do is beneficial to everybody and I always appreciate reading your input. Last night I went 4 for 5 on the North Drift the fish were all on or about the 45 line and they ranged in size from 47 to 53 inches. I do not know the exact size because I released them all and did not take them out of the water. I know you are planning to fish Lauderdale but at least last night the bite was good up here for the little guys. |
