Aww, come on guys. He's just a kid, leave him be.

I'll answer your question. If you're buying a combo, the minimum is 50 pound class, 80s are better. If you already have 30s, they'll work with the right angler and boat driver. The quality of fish out there is getting better and better. My TLD 25s haven't been on the darkside for a while now.

Other thing, search the archives before posting questions. You'll find a lot of info and get flamed a lot less.

Use what ya got, learn from there.50Wlrs is my weapon of choice but with being spooled we are now putting two 80W into the mix.

50's should be enough but 80's r better. Anything less than that you'll probably be spooled.
