Default Jamaican in Florida

Well, I finally made it to Florida. Sorry RT between the family and stuff just ran out of time, dam shame I had to drink that rum without you. Got a question about setting the spread. Some folk say to set the deeper line first and the deepest is the farthest from the boat, the boat I fished on set his shallowest first and the deepest line was his tip rod right next to the boat. Whats the rationale behind where the deepest line goes? Should it be closest or farthest? Is this just personal preference?

I would say that 90% of people on this forum set their spread with their deepest balloon bait furthest out, and therefor deployed first.

The tip rod does not necessarily have to be the most shallow, but it should be deployed last, after you get the rest of the spread out away from the boat.
