It's actually a new fishing technique, submerge and let the fish swim into the boat.

Holy Crap!!

What a nightmare... I guess he came out of it safe, but what a horrible ordeal. Incidentally, that's why the CG and ABYC require "upright floatation" incorporated into the construction of a boat in the event that she swamps.. This builder did their job well.

It looks like a Proline or Pusuit.

Is it an open transom / engine-well boat by any chance?? Please give us the story. I sure as hell don't want to make jokes about the poor fellow I just have a fellow mariner's curiosity.

Actually, all kidding aside, this happens quite a lot...

- wave over the transom especially when some folks incorrectly anchor stern-first coupled with pump failure
- wave over the bow with pump failure
- No drain plug
- Through-hull fitting or transducer failure
- Plumbing failure of other sorts....inadvertently pumping raw water into the bilge/hull instead of well or hose
- hull failure
- overloading

It's gotta suck. Most new boats have floatation so they are designed to swamp. I have often seen video in the news of sea tow pulling swamped boats and easily salvaging them.

Hope it doesn't happen to any of us.

Tight lines and water tight hulls!
