Nice work on at least coming tight! It was slow for us. We fished the 04 to the 24 and the 48 to the 52. And about 10 slashed baits in the first 30 minutes of fishing, but only one or 2 other slashes all night.
Did catch a 22lb Dolphin on an 8lb spinning rod.

At 4am we weren't sure about the weather and if it was gonna stay 2-3 or pick up or die down and our live biat wasn't doing so hot, so we opted to go home instead of heading east for Tuna.

Wow looks like all the swords where in your area ... all we had was that one good hit from the sword ,,, we where well inside 79,57 in 1000ft of water ...we had a NW drift started at the 79,52..It looked bad going out .. gray skies .. and 2-3 ft seas , but around 1100PM it was starting to clear down south !

We fished the south drift, well inside the 50. Two for three and a semi early night. Fish were legal but small relatively speaking. Missed 2 sets of nice dolphin coming through the lights (in about 30 seconds) but we had decided not to ready ourselves for the possibility of them. Got a nice ass waxing from the storms... After running a yacht all weekend in the Air & Sea show traffic the storms were kind of pleasant! Off to get my three hours of sleep and then doing a delivery from Ft Lauderdale to Marco @ first light.

Ron , didnt boat it at that time .. it tail walked right in to my center consol where I had 4 rods ... the bill missed me by 1 ft .. but hit side way s and flopped back into the water .. swam under my boat and started jumping on the other side ... nothing broke ! 5 min later had the sail next to the boat and released it without taking it out of the water ...this is the only pic that came out good ... the rest are blurry ... doesn`t work well fighting a sail and taking pic`s at the same time !

Willie,

At least you guys got a phin.

Saturday night we went 0-1 out of Lake Worth Inlet. We were 50 and inside. We got to our spot late about 9pm. We set out 2 lines. While setting up the 3rd. The second line starts to scream off of the spool. I start reeling like crazy. I get tight. Then the hook pulls. That was the only action we saw all night. Call the night at 12pm. A few crew members were tierd of getting beat up.

Hey Mannyc, that seems to be the norm with us lately .. dolphin before it gets dark ... last couple trips putting phins in the boat .. now I have a spinner ready when we stop ..just incase a fish pops up ... still would like a sword on a spinner ...

lets doit, i have a pretty heavy duty spinning rod. all we need is a large reel with lots of spectra and a weak link near the leader so when were about to get SPOOLED we can break it off at the leader. i think nickc or one of his buds played with that idea before.

i have not been at this game long enough to have the luxury of picking my swords... i get lucky just to have one eat my bait. maybe one day.
