Default Refurbishing Pop-Up Satellite Tags for Swordfish

We are hoping to get out friday or saturday to tag our 3rd swordfish
with a new Pop-Up Satellite tag. I'll let you know when. The SAIL club
is also buying another new tag for our research in the Florida Straits.
We may be able to get some old tags and refurbish them at a cost of $750 each. I would love to do this so this since we can collect the same amount of data for about 1/5 of the cost of a new tag. The purpose of this post is
to see if there is enough interest on this board to pursue this and to
see who would like to contribute $$ to this effort?? Right now, just about
every single fish tag is being bought with private, not goverment, money.
cheers, arthur

I'd be willing to contribute monies towards this project. It's the least I can do to give back to the fishery that has given so much to me .

After reading these posts, some emails, and a few phone calls, I am
very happy to see all the support for this research. There will be an
announcement soon about who is going to donate to the next round of
tagging. I will also have a fund raising party at the house where we
will pass the bucket. THANKS to everyone and I'll be on channel 72
tonight with Eric Orbesen and tags aboard. Anyone with some hot numbers can call me at 954 923 0258 to make our job a little easier. cheers,
arthur
