Default Tuna Trip fro a Swordfish Trip

I am looking to trade a tuna trip for a swordfish trip.
Down here in Louisiana we have undoubtedly some of the best Tuna fishing in the states, our winter fishery, which has started, consists of running 45 miles to an area that we call the lumps. Most have probably read the articles in all the magazines. An area about a square mile that sits in about 200' surrounded by depths of 400+. The Yellowfin here avg 80+lbs and fish over 100lbs are not uncommon at all...Our spring/summer fishing usually focuses around the weed lines that move in close, but more popular are the many floating oil rigs that are anywhere from 60 miles on out. We also have some great dolphin, Wahoo, and marlin fishing in these areas... In fall we find the tuna following the shrimp boats in 200' + ft of water or around the schools of mullet in open water.

Now there are a couple capts that have explored the swordfish resource with some success but as I said there's only a couple! I made one trip this past summer (in July) and we caught one small pup of about 35-40lbs. But it's hard to pass up catching 10+ plus Yellowfin a night and countless blackfin for a shot at a sword especially since the fishery is new to recreational/charters and the where's and whens are a mystery...

A little background about myself,
I currently run charters out of Fourchon LA out of a 26' Glacier Bay. We generally focus on tuna but we fish for everything from red and mangrove snapper, grouper, amberjack, cobia, kingfish, dolphin, and wahoo.
I also run a 35' Cabo express as well as doing freelance captain and mate work on local boats including a charter boat.

Anybody interested please email me and we can talk about dates and the best way to work this for both to take advantage of the fishing in our respective areas...

Sounds good Capt. Ed.:

Sounds like a very nice opportunity. I sent you a PM.

P.S. - How are those gulf seas? Sounds almost like they are within diving reach. I am thinking huge crustaceans, within reach; or at least a nice bag full of shrimp.

Big Tuna are yummy, but for the most part are east of the Bahamas from here. I beg to be corrected.

Have n''t had any experiences on the gulf coast, though.

I'd love to fish the gulf. I have never fished an oil rig. I've never even fished behind a shrimp boat. I'm missing out.

To the people that sent emails and to the rest I will contact each one of you via email this weekend, I have 2 trips scheduled this weekend and the tuna are red hot right now.
