Default Current Weather

Anybody believe there will be a weather window tonite between dusk and midnight to get out and fish. Looking at the current forecast I don't see getting out much before later next week.

So much for my Saturday night trip. Looked alright up until I saw the 4:30 forecast yeaterday afternoon.

Good luck to anyone willing to head out.

Just my luck, I get stuck out in our Yard tug moving boats as this line of squalls comes through. Its now blowing out of the North with some respectable gusts in the squalls.

Good luck on Saturday night Hanaman. Hope you get a good one. My days of needing to go out in rough weather are over. This is still my recreation, and I have seen enough rough nights to last me for a lifetime.

Default What's for Dinner? Will be at home tonight.

Time to start pulling some swordfish out of the freezer since it looks like the wind will keep the gulfstream kicked up a notch for a few days.

Saturday night is a definite postponement for this land-lubber : 7-9 ft. seas seems like trooper weather unlike the 2 ft. or less as predicted by NOAA from Wednesday night. Hmmm, I just wonder if Chummin is heading out tonight or Saturday? There should not be any crowds.

Looks like a good night to light up the Hubbly-bubbly and enjoy the great outdoors from a covered shelter.

Well, NOAA scared us away from tonight, and we decided to do some repair work on the boat instead. Of course the flags are hanging lifeless. We are going to go fly a kite tomorrow and hope to get some sails... or a tuna if were lucky. Heard it was slow on the edge today...Wish I was swordin instead. (maybe sword tomorrow if it remains calm?)

Hannaman, if you are still going tonight I bet youll do well. You should have the ocean to yourself. Good luck and let us know how it goes.

I fished this morning.. went out to about 300ft and it was rough.. about 4-6 swells with a 2-4 chop.. Probably nasty near the 50 line.

OK, looking at this mornings weather (1/19) I'm thinking there might be a window to get out on Saturday night. Interesting forecast for Sunday.

Anyone else heading out on Saturday night. Going to try and get my brother his first while he is in town. Hope the weather holds.

I think I will warm him up with some sails on Friday.

Default NOAA weather forecast - mmmh.

Last weeks's (among many others) lessons learned was not to depend on NOAA forecast this far out. The reality may not have been as bad as the forecast was updated to be as the weekend approached but it was still a radical change-over

Yeah, I am planning to head out this Saturday with Inspector. (weather permitting)

But just looking at the general Synopsis posted 4:30 this morning it could be a radical switch in weather: I just hope that the weather holds long enough to get out there. (For one, Zen and the art of Swordfishing requires there to be a baited line in the water to be able to catch one.)

Anyone have any current comments on swordfishing when the wind is Westerly (NW or SW or W)? Have heard a few comments before that the fishing is no good for Swordfish when the westerlies are blowing.

Forgot to pack the foul weather gear last Saturday, I would have done better with it, So I will be better prepared this time around.

I think the worst part about a west wind is the ride home.

I know I'm jumping the gun looking this far ahead at the forecast, I just can't help myself. No matter how it turns out the gear is packed and we are ready to head to the boat as soon as a window of opportunity should present itself. West winds or not, you can't catch one if you aint there trying.

Will be taking the 'Cunning Plan' out of PE this time around.

Default Where's the Bee... I mean Tuna?

Agreed:

We plan to be there to give it a try. We may go out of PE or Haulover Inlets. Any tips on where we may find some nice Tunas since we will be out from midday to well past sundown.

Kai Akua mentioned Chub Cay but I wonder if there is any decent action going on here on this side.

We might go on Saturday...the moon looks good.

RT, I don't know about tuna but we got into the dolphin pretty good the other day. Seems like they've been better the last couple weeks then during the last summer.

It's looking like there could be a good window on Friday night. I think we'll be giving it a try.

Hey Sam,

Are you heading out with Mark? Tommy is still down in Key West until probably Friday night. I'm trying to put a trip together for Saturday night on Scotty's boat. He is out of town to the Boat show in Dusseldorf for a week or so. He likes to make it my responsiblity to make sure the boat gets run since he is out of town so much.

Let me know how you do on Friday, and I also need to go over some work related things with you sometime.

Good luck,
Dan
