Way to go!
We're headed down to the Keys in June and was wondering if you could point us in the General direction of some swords at night time, unless your willing to share your daytime swording info? Thanks Christopher |

PS 3102... there is a big difference in both ...#1 daytime your squid will have to be close to the bottom ... 1100-1400ft .. which is a long way down ...#2 nite time at same depth range 1100-1400ft..but your squid can be from the surface to any depth 100,175 ,200 or 300ft .. night time is much easier ..just being out fishing 14-20 miles out in the dark has it`s dangers .. ships , sunken logs , other boaters with no lights ... just to name a few

If you stop by Bud N' Mary's they will be glad to share some of the night time information with you. The daytime stuff is classified though
We have plenty of guys that go at night and do well and there are no real secrets with that anymore. I will tell you they don't really carry the longline squids for bait so I would suggest bringing those, I think their the best baits at night though some people use live blue runners, though I think the hookup rates were not as good with a live bait.

Here is a cool picture we snapped of a broadbill jumping during the day. The shadow kind of covers him, but it still is pretty neat.

I bet that 7 catches for one angler is some sort of record for swordfish... especially for the daytime... pretty work son... "Some sort of keys record?" what about miami and lauderdale... dont know any one person to crank that many in a day...
