Default Well guys we sold our boat- Lots of pics inside!

Guys, My dad bought our boat, named Retreat, over four years ago.. our first big boat. at the time we had never done any offshore fishing. While it wasnt quite a fishing boat we fished the hell out of it when we could!! it taught us a million lessons, including tons of patience and how to have a lot of fun and catch a lot of fish. My dad sister and i spent every vacation possible on it and it took us to Islamorada twice, Key west, Lucaya and our final big trip to the Abacos where I spent the last summer, and countless trips where we made home at miami beach marina or bahia mar marina. i can also honestly say i found my passion and obsession for boats and fishing, and i am now going to persue a career in the industry.

i have so many incredible memories it would be impossible to even begin to describe. I have over 3000 pictures from the past few years and it was almost impossible to pick even these few to post. Here are some of the best pictures I could find, i figured i'd post em up here. This doesnt even scratch the surface but oh well...Enjoy!

As far as fishing firsts : Retreat gave us in four years and only about 120 days on the water (in order):
Baracuda (we thought we were the shit!)
Kingfish- St Simons Island, GA
Cobia- Fernandena
My first beer
Mahi- Miami
Sailfish- Miami
White Marlin- Lucaya
Wahoo- Lauderdale
Blackfin Tuna- Keys
Swordfish- Lauderdale THANK YOU SFC!
Blue Marlin- Miami- Controversial, i know it was a blue, some people say sail
Yellowfin Tuna- Abacos

The new boat- 2001 48' Sea Ray Sedan Bridge

First cobia

Lucaya

BULL!- Lucaya

first sail

First sword!

You will never see my happier/more excited than being in that cockit heading SE out of Port Everglades with the sun setting and a 50W in my hand

Love this picture

Like I said, Retreat was an amazing boat, although it had a tendency to break at the worst of times but it provided a means to create some of the best memories i have. Hopefully the new owner will appreciate it as we did.

I will miss this boat!
(but its not all sad...I am flying to Miami thursday to look at big center consoles )

We will be there. Im sure i'll see you just dont say anything around my dad about forum stuff (he'll think im wierd )

On a serious note... How do you like boat sales? I am very interested in persuing this as a career. I will be handing out resumes for internship positions at the boat show. ANY advice or help along the way would be GREATLY appreciated. I am currently persuing a Finance/Real Estate Double major at Ole Miss. Boats are my passion, so i figure thats what i need to do!

Any Father would be proud that his kid bragged the way you have over the recreation he provided for his family. It only takes reading this thread to know you'll be successful in whatever profession you choose. Good Luck

I totally agree. It take some of the pain of the maintenance cost when you hear that kind of story from a son. Here here to the memoirs
