Default Twas the night before Christmas...

Twas the night before Christmas, And all along the 50 line
The boats were lining up, Most of them Friends of mine

The squids were all hung, from their jugs with care,
In hopes that Mr. Swordie, soon would be there,

The fresh little tinkers were snug on the hook,
Hoping a broadbill didn’t take a look,
Cliff in the tower, and Butch on the stern,
I hollered on 72, Its about my turn

When up in the rocket launcher, the reel started to scream,
It’s Mr. Swordie, And he sounds mean!
Butch saw it first, and he started to yelp,
Cliff almost fell from the tower, I almost wet myself,

The moon on the water, looked like new fallen snow
Hell, there’s no moon, It must be the hydroglow

I looked in the light and what did appear?
No $h*t, I see so many fish, We gotta get outta here!

I swear that fish is wearing a red hat,
I said to Cliff, then he said, Where the hell did you get that?
You must be crazy, Whatta you been drinking,
I’m taking the rod, I don’t know what you been thinking.

You lost the last fish, you must be getting old,
I pull this thing in, before we get spooled

Ron got on the Radio and called the fleet

Hey DpDash,
Hey Pumkin Eater,
Hey Bill Collector,
Hey sabiking,
Hey Yellowfin Hunter
Hey Hey Capt Mitch,

Hey every body,Son of a B***

He’s running up the middle of the fleet,I don’t think we can stop him,
Maybe I keep tying 80’s to him , Until I can reach the bottom.

He roared up the line, with Changed Condtions in tow,
Grabbing everyones ballons and a couple of hydroglow

I swear I saw a couple of Tld25,s training from that fish,
And enough electralumes to fill everyones Christmas wish

The balloons began to pull together and light up the night,
I swear we snagged so many rigs, it lit up like daylight,

And under that light, as we started backing down
Was the biggest sword, I had ever found

But hanging from the leader was a pirates booty
With everyones rigs, that’s al lot of looty

And when we started to dart him, I realized I couldn’t,
This is the Santa Claus Swordie, Maybe I shouldn’t,

He was every bit of 500 pounds,
Should I really let him go to keep swimming the mounds?
I knew if I didn’t I would really regret it,
Who needs the mercury, Eat him? Forget it!

So we cut him free, after clearing all the rigs,
Man he was big, I mean REALLY big!

So If next Christmas Eve, you fish, Just remember one thing,
If your sitting under the moon and your reel begins to scream,
It could be the Christmas swordie giving you a show,
But if you catch him on Christmas eve, you gotta let him go
Back to the mountains to chase squid in the dark,
Eating tinkers and runners and maybe a shark.

Merry Christmas from a swordie addict…..
