It's not the swords that hurt me.It is all the other big fish and years of use and abuse of my lower back.Ever go over a ski jump on a knee board.Jump giant waves in a 13ft Boston whaler again and again landing flat from 10ft up.Not to mention pull on to many big fish when I was to young.Being the youngest on a commercial boat and proving you can carry 150lb to 200lb tuna around the deck.If I only knew then what I know now.

I forgot 2 or 3 car wrecks,to many motocycle spills, crash's and caseings to count.

And last but not least a cuople (hold my beer watch this moments.)

Ivan

Not having a real job I am always looking for someone who can go out on a moments notice. Work for myself and my office is in NYC. I live in the roads. Another Miami fireman/paramedic John lives two doors down. Perhaps you know him. I fish on a 377 intrepid and have been real sucessful over the past year. Call me sometime if you are interested. (the first 2 had nothing to do with fishing) ivan your a cool dude for sure. glad i could show you my version of the ropes. to get a sword on your first trip is pretty bitchin'. chris will read this post and be a little bummed he didnt suffer from beginners luck like ivan did. theres a spot on my boat for you, just keep in touch. I just gotta say...

this is what this forum is all about and should remain this way. I think I counted at least 5 people who have given their # to a total stranger to teach them how to catch swordfish. thats what its all about. I learned on this forum and became successful due to it. Hopefully one day I will have a boat in south florida so I can offer the same to someone who was in my position only a few years ago.

Cheers guys, keep it up. This is what big game fishing is all about. On the few occasions I get out to hunt for the great Swordfish I love posting my failure or success with everyone here, because ya'll provide the encouragement and tips that keep us going. My first swordy is something I'll never forget, and its something I love sharing with other people.

Thanks for gettin this guy a Swordy! Thats what we're here for!

I was wondering if you guys even made it out...Congrats Ivan on your 1st ..Ray I'm not bummed at all it took me so long to get my 1st nice fish. Every trip with you was a learning adventure that how I look at it. Plus your a swell person who fillets a swordfish like an artist. I could have made it out with you guys but it was the wife's birthday so I couldn't get out of it. Ivan if you ever need a hand let me know...
