Default Sick Story! 300 lb.er - anyone hear this?

So here's a story from the other night that I heard from a buddy in Key West, but the guys were fishing up here off Ft. Laudy: They hooked up a triple, and shortly after two of the fish just quit fighting and they cranked 'em in. Apparently an 80 lb.er on one rod freaked during the fight and speared the other fish, a 300 lb.er, right through the gills, killing it.

Yep, I believe the pictures will be in tomorrows Sun Sensinel - the smaller fish killed the bigger fish and they came to the boat stuck together. Lots of pictures were taken.

TJ on the KILLER BUZZ had a triple header on, they new one of the fish was big cuz it jumped near the boat, as they were trying to get the other 2 fish in to concentrate on the big one, the little one got wrapped in the mainline of the big fish and broke it off, next they see the LP light of the big fish on the surface coming towards one of there other fish , and the smaller fish slammed into the big one, harpooning it

The story is valid and from a reputable source. TJ is the man, still recovering from his New Years Party Nick told me there were pictures, if so they will find there way on here

I wonder if this was intentional on the part of the small fish? Has anyone ever heard of a sailfish impaling another hooked sailfish? I haven't, and that's a species oftentimes caught in multiple hookups. My thoughts are the small fish was angry and looking to kill anything (but particularly the something causing its distress) and felt threatened by the much bigger fish.

Crazy fish... damn do I love them!
