Default Role call for Friday night, Nov. 12.

Can it be true that the seas are actually forecast to lay down to 2 ft. or less tomorrow night? Who is brave enough to tackle those conditions?

But FIRST before going there too fast. Today is November 11: this is also Veterans Day. I would like to take this moment to personally thank all Military personnel, especially active duty, due to the present needs required around our water planet. But no less of a salute to the Inactive and Retired and deceased military folks that have served our country, and even veterans of other countries, that are closely aligned to civil and freedom based idealologies similar to ours. ONE BIG SALUTE TO YOU and Thank you for your sacrifice! War and torture and mal-consequences of the results, sucks! But it seems that we must accept it and deal with it the best we can.

Perhaps to cheer things up a bit: Who wants to go fishing tomorrow night?
Oh, Oh, I do, Pick me, Pick me! Is there anybody else ... that wants to go fishing on Friday ?

Well, it just so happens that it is my birthday tomorrow. I sometimes get lucky on my birthday, so I am going to exploit that trend with a Bimini style twist. Come 12:01 A.M. tonight I am going to light a candle and then blow it out with the wish that we catch a fish at least 1 lb. over 200.

Any reliable forecasts on how the bite will be tomorrow?

I have the privelege and honor to go fishing tomorrow night with a relatively new participant on this forum. And that would be INSPECTOR Bob, Captain of the Bel-Mayo. He has been duly advised of the ramifications of swordfishing as clearly stated on the WARNING post and freely accepts all the conditions. Sounds almost like a veteran already.
http://www.swordfishingcentral.com/f...opic.php?t=686
The INSPECTOR is all ready to scope out a nice broadbill on the platform of his battle-wagon, I mean boat.

Bob, I hope that will be a nice tribute to your first BIG swordfish.

RT,

Couldn't think there would be a better birthday present for you than you getting to battle a 200 LBer + 1LB into the cockpit and back to the dock!

Your's was a very appropriate salute to everbody in uniform for today, yesterdays, and unfortunately future days. I echo the salute.

See ya tomorrow.

Happy BDay Risktaker. Catch a monster, and take good pictures. If you need a camera, let me know and you can pick up my digital from my house. Make us landlocked people proud.

Default We are fishing, so nothing is guaranteed.

We are fishing, so nothing is guaranteed.

But I am hoping with expectations set so high that failure is not an option.

Speaking of cameras, my wifey is taking the digital to P.R. in the morning. So I will not have a camera, to provide any physical evidence. Thanks F.P. but I think the INSPECTOR will cover that department. If possible, I think he wants to have a good photo to motovate you so you can try to show him up some day.

I am so ready to catch a fish, A.S.A.P. ... --- ... RT

Default Thanks Joe- how many will u catch?

Thanks Joe:

Seems like you are good on this detail: last time it was FishinChick. After checking out her web-site it seems like there is a lot more there than a cute AVATAR. Keep up the good work! And I hope you get lucky in Cabo: live like a King. You can start a new trend and write a few books: starting with the South-West Beach Diet. (This is no offense, just wit at play here.) But if you do, I want royalties: if that is too much to ask at least free invites on the mothership of your pending fleet every now and then. (Don't even think about it: Zen and the Art of Swordfishing requires my ink but we can include special contributions, from yourself and perhaps even some from the already famous, like Capt. Fred A.) I offer to bring the Cabo-Wabo and can perhaps muster up a REAL SOUTH BEACH BABE; for entertainment purposes only.

Cheers: and what is the name of the old Flanigan's place in Coco Grove. I forgot, since there are a few variations in this neighborhood. The last time I was there, I was dressed up as Cristobol Colon with a map in one hand and the other hand was free to do the Italian thing. By the way, third place, for one of the divsions of the Columbus Day Regatta.

Oh, did I thank you. If not I will, but in the meantime, happy birthday to you to. And catch a beautiful fish tomorrow but I really want that 200#+. Will touch base on 72. Since I am a guest, listen for Bel-mayo, or RiskTaker. On other occasions, if you happen to hear the Bahamian call-sign of PorgeeRock, that would be me tambien.

Mike, you're all right. No possibility for team Bullfighter tonight or this weekend. We'll give it Hell over the Turkey day holiday.
My money is on the birthday boy for the T-Shirt. Good Luck to everyone. We'll be looking for some good posts with pictures.

Since tonight is likely the last calm night for atleast a week, I will up the stakes.

Free T-shirt to each member of the team to bring back the biggest swordfish.
Up to 4...

We will kind of just use the honor system and judge by the pictures, so take a bunch! I'll leave the voting up to the guys here in the forums.

Bring back a fatty!!!!!

Mike

Default We caught 2 tonight too.

Hey Joe: I heard you out there. It sounded like you had just boated a 60" fish . I guess that was the 61" on your report. I went out of Port Eveglades with the "Inspector", but did not make any radio calls since we became occupied with multiple things....

Yeah, we went 2 for 2, but released both since they were too small.
But what a mess. The first one was a prangster: this clowny was caught on the balloon line and still somehow managed to cause a 3 way tangle, which is a first for me. But catching 2 on the same night is also. So I accept that these things are bound to happen. Too bad they weren't the size of fish you caught or that "wish-for fish of 200#". The first untangle and the release somehow motivated me to Chumminwith-milunch. We managed to set up again on the same drift. So, I decided to lay down since I was not fully settled. After a while, Bob said we have some more action going on after hearing a splash. So I get up to help out. Sure enough fish on. This one was feistier so we think he may be a keeper, but not a powerhouse. He was so active we couldn't quite tell his size. So I am leader-man on this one and I grab him tightly by the bill and heave him into the cock-pit. A quick measure, and cut the hook since he slurped down the squid. Back he goes into the water to grow into a bigger guy for another time.

Bob is batting 100% so far. No fishing trips for swords without catching at least one. Time for nighty night, since this was a long day from start to post.

Default Joe did the good work.

Thanks FP:

For my level of experience, I am pleased, but actually Joe gets the "awesome job award" since he caught the 2 keepers.

Bullfighter, I hope you did not lose any money rooting for me. But thanks for the support and maybe we can get out there one evening and capture a keeper together.

Sounds like Chummin's team may also win the bootie prize that Admin. Mike put up for grabs as additional motivation , I mean catchin-broads T shirt(s).

I hope that everyone that wanted to go fishing got out there last night. The seas were plenty calm but the next few days looks like they will be building back up into dire conditions.

It still looks calm this afternoon and may still be good tonight but be careful if the NE winds start kicking in early.

Swordfish 123 - weather prediction for week of 21-28 during the windy season: Windy. It's good to have a complementary hobby, like windurfing, so it doesn't matter what the weather is doing. Just go with the flow.
