Default Trouble shooting setup

Hey guys,

Here is our current setup, can you all let me know what your feelings are on it.

Whole illex squids 12in-15in long hooked half way up the body
2 green sticks : 1 6ft from bait, one on the dacron/ mono joint 12-15ft?
LP disco, roughly 30ft from bait.
2 lb Bank sinker, 50 ft from bait roughly
one line let down til i cant see LP, one line around 250-300, one 50 ft below boat.

Should i reduce the weight to 12 or 16oz as we have light currents
Should i elimnate the 2nd glow stick?

No luck yet, just beheaded squids with no teeth marks, and then some all chewed up with little marks

Just wanna know if this seems like a good approach

thanks
adam

im not sure if all that light is necessary. I usualy just throw an electralume on at the start of the windon and go with that.

I would keep the heavy sinker. In my opinion theres no point in goign light becuase with the heavy you know that your bait is going straight down, eliminating tangles etc, especially since you have it at least 50 ft from your bait. Are you using break away rubber bands with the sinker?

I would go like 300, 200 and 75 with the Tip rod and move it around some. But thats just me

Where abouts are you fishing, right in the tongue of the ocean or in the northwest pc? thats some deep water either way, you might wanna break out an 80 or 130 and drop one like 600 feet or so just for fun

I put my Seamaster up by the Bimini knot.

I like using 20-24oz weights.

right now i have it attached with a # 64 rubber band, so if i hook up with something nice the lead will break away. Im starting the drift around 800 and drifting til about 2500ft. I need the wind to switch around to the east so i can parrrel the shore. I am going to do some drifts in the tounge sometime in dec.
