Default Foreign registered boats, US waters

Anyone have any idea on the rules for a non US registered vessel fishing recreationally on the 50 line? The boat will have entered US waters legally etc but what if we went out for an evening swordfishing while we are in FLL?

Do we need a permit of some sort? Who to contact to find out the easy way? ( Not wanting to find out the hard way with hands in cuffs from the Feds etc )

Thanks

Alan try this site. I would call the agent for the southeast. They will at least point you in the right direction.
