Awesome -- the combined weight of our two biggest fish maybe equals your horse Drew. Congratulations, we bow to your dominance Oh Swordfish God!

Default Release them and they will grow on you.

That fish was a big female breeder. Are you certain that you did not want to release her?

Can you imagine catching a fish, 1.25x that size? Seems like the imagination could become a distinct possibility, providing we do not begin the gauntlet anew again. (That pertains to the PLL pressure: inside, outside or on both ends of the fence.)

Good job Drew and crew: I was just razzing you above. But on a serious note: that encounter may likely have never happened if not for the conservation measures set in place, about a half decade ago.

The earth is our playground: I sure hope that we can enjoy it now and for generations to come. Fishtales like this, are stories that you can tell to your grandchildren. With well balanced fisheries management, our grandkids will hopefully share adventures just like this one with their second generation decendants. :thumleft:

See you maņana.

That red under the bill has everything to do with handling/scraping bursting blood vessels and probably nothing to do with it being a pumpkin or not. The same thing happens to thresher sharks when you drag 'em to the rack, the skin and tail starts turning bloody from the handling.

Thank you sir, answered my opinion. I was trying to put it together and only have evidence of two fish with the red on the underside of the bill and they were both pumpkin or near pumpkin.
