Default Southeast Swordfish Club

During the last meeting, we had fisherman attend from Stuart and Fort Pierce who share our concerns about our fishery and who really enjoyed the meeting.

After hearing their concerns and seeing their interest, the Southeast Swordfish Club (SESC) would like to explore the idea of having our meetings in different cities. If anyone is interested in organizing a meeting in Fort Pierce, Stuart, West Palm, Miami or Islamorada the SESC will support you and RJ Boyle, Ron Coddington, Skip Smith and other members are willing to attend the meeting.

Ultimately, we are looking to expand the club and its influence by setting up additional SESC chapters in other areas like Miami, Islamorada, Fort Pierce, Palm Beach or Stuart.

The SESC would need individuals from those areas to help organize a couple of meetings a year. We would schedule meetings each month at the different chapters so any member could attend the different chapter meetings to better understand the local chapter viewpoints and to organize the SESC to better represent our common interests.

We would also have a guest speaker attend whenever possible. Those meetings can be just like our regular meetings.

The more Swordfishermen we can get to join the SESC the better we will be able to keep the coast of Florida and the Straits of Florida closed to commercial longlining. We can't let our guard down! The commercial fishing interest in our fishery will not going away.

I think it is great idea. Why dont we start with a meeting in Miami and move our way up.

As for the name, I think "southeast" is appropriate as we are covering the closed zones... QQ, i cant wait until the next sfc 201 meeting

Sure the boys at Finest kind, and mitchells would let us put up flyers to help get the word out. When we get a date for the meetings set, I'd be more than happy to help w/ printing flyers and getting them put around at the tackle shops from Boynton to Stuart as I'm fishing out of BBI and SLI
a couple times a week.
Let me know. 561-239-6948
Later,
Butch
