Short-term memory loss, my bad. Good job on that vid' Barry, it's a hard technique to explain.

Default just use a ll clip

instead of wax use a ruber band. rap the band around the line like 7-10 times take both ende of the band around ur finger and clip a ll clip through bothends and around the mono. no slipping and no chafing plus easy removal after a while the wax will cause u to loose a fish.

From your comment 5 days ago....

I like the method of bouys. George and I switched due to the fact that the ruberbands chafe the line a little

A little contradicting. I think it is amazing that George and you have learned so much in so little time, probably less than two years right? I remember coming in time and time again for a couple years and seeing George at the dock, coming back from snapper/kingfishing, I think he started swordfishing like two years ago. It is amazing that you have lost that many fish to poor crimps than we all have pulled the hook on. That is a lot of fish, and a whole lot of fish to lose before you would stop and say, "self, maybe these crimps arent good or I am crimping wrong" I have never lost a fish on a crimp personally, and I use those other crimps all the time.

George is a cool dude and a great fisherman and I think he should be given credit for alot of those fish that come in his boat. Look forward to fishing with George sometime.

Johnny

No you just misunderstand me. Before, we attached the ballons with a rubberband but it was not cliped with a ll clip. We wrapped it arround the line 5 times and back over the baloon. Now the rubberband dosent prevent slippage from the notting around the line its more like a chafe tubbing it prevents the ll clip from moving kinda like non skid cooler stuff. Rather than notting preventing the slippage. I have been fishing all my life. I know how to crimp. plus we havent had a problem since we changed our crimps. George does the crimping anyway.
What kind of crimps do you use? I was bieng sarcastic 3 fish lost 1 with frank 1 with george and capt ed lost one. but when it counted we couldent count on the crimp. thats all I am saying. As you can see I have been fishing with george for over 15 months we have improved alot. I think we proved we worked out all the kinks for the last tourney even if I wasent on the boat. I was there the night before and most nights before that. George is the man and one of the nicest guys u will ever meet. All hail King George

Cool.....I just like to try and keep tabs on who is fishing one way or another so I pay attention to everything people say so I know what method people like George are using to constantly be putting fish in the boat. I fish 1.6mm leader and put it in the 1.7 crimps. I have used the Momoi ones Bobby has and the other ones and never had a problem with either so I fish the cheaper ones. As far as the rubber bands......I hate them. In the winter time when they break and snap your hand, when its rough and they break, when they are old they break. I will say that your second way of doing it is better than the other way you were talking about, I was just trying to figure out how you changed your opinion in 5 days.

George is a cool ass dude.....btw you guys fish the same squids I do if he is still getting them from there Look forward to fishing with you guys sometime. My boat is almost back up, I will be hitting it up hard during Christmas Break, either of you are welcome to come.
