Default Go get em fellas...

We fished on Thursday night as the only boat in the water. The seas were definately fishable at 3-6 feet in NE chop and we had a busy night. We managed 8 bites with 6 fish to the boat. We released 4 pups and put 2 in the boat. Curtis Beers from north Florida traveled over 3 hours to get on some Swords and we worked him all night. Last fish came in the boat from the tip rod 10 minutes before lines out.

Friday night we took out a local resident, Darryl Dawkins and his sister. The seas dropped down to flat calm and we had another great night. We had 4 fish on this time and again 2 fish in the boat. The first fish came in at about 150 pounds and the next one was just a little smaller. They looked like a pair of book ends together. That last fish came in the boat and suddenly turned green and went nuts. Kenny wrestled him down and settled the fish quickly by means of a knife.

The fishing should be going off tonight fellas. My boat is sitting this one out so I can spend some time with my wife. Here are some pics from Thursday and Friday night...

Default Thanks Hannaman

Good Job Capt. Cary:

Glad to see the bite in motion. It is so exciting to hear reports of Rec. boats and Charter boat businesses going out and catching good numbers of fish and boating a few to keep. Seems like a great time was had by out of town visitors and locals alike.

What a great way to keep eco-tourism and broad based recreational fishing interests alive and well in Florida, on a sustained basis.

Let's hope and directly try to influence ways to keep it going like this. Contending with re-newed PLL activity in our midst will certainly have a direct impact on great reports like this. Let's hope that the 2006 season is not the end of some improved fishing trend as we have begun to see it.

Hannaman, thanks for the report: yours is good news. Haven't heard anything yet about Saturday night's fishing but it should be very interesting to start hearing about now.

Nice work Capt! The bite was on last night!!! We weren't in it too good, but we caught a couple and lost a few.

We had one slashed bait when we moved but only had one fish in the spread and that was the one we killed.
