Default Shark and Tuna Gallery Launched

I launched 2 new galleries dedicated to sharks (threshers, makos, etc) and also to tuna. I know that a lot of you guys catch tuna's during the day and the head out for swords at night.

I may even launch a separate forum, if there is enough of a crowd to talk sharks and tuna.

WE want to hear of all the purple fish you are catching!!!

Mike

Default What do you mean by purple fish?

Hey Mike:

I am not familiar with the "purple" terminology.
Is it a fathom zone or a common color on color fish finders?

I have heard of the purple line and now purple fish.... what gives?

I am familiar with the purple isles: Isla-morada.

Why don't you post on the gallery that nice tuna you caught locally?

Out on the west coast the harpoon boats say that they catch "purple fever". It is a reference to the way that Elvis (swordfish) light up when they get excited and what an unforgettable sight that is. I'm sure that there are a lot of fishermen on this site who have purple fever too. It's incurable, thank goodness!

Catch it!

Mike -
Sweet job on all the new galleries. You keep giving me more excuses to procrastinate, I love it. I hope to join the 200 lb sword club soon.

Gotta love that "Mako on a leash" pic. Hope to be getting the mount back before the end of the year.

How about some comments guys. Like the one with the gills ripped off. I wonder if a gaff did that or another shark?

Looks like another shark to me. Some of those makos are absolutely incredible. One question...isn't it illegal in FL to kill a bigeye thresher, or can certain people with permits take these?
